You can choose employment options related to supporting the design and construction of infrastructure developments like subdivisions, irrigation and hydro power systems, and public amenities such as water and waste water supplies and treatment.
This qualification also satisfies the academic requirement for entry to the Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand (IPENZ) accreditation system.

The New Zealand Diploma in Engineering (Civil) qualification provides a pathway to the New Zealand Diploma in Engineering Practice (NZDEP). The NZDEP is a work- based qualification that is assessed on the job through the Industry Training Organisation best aligned with a trainee's chosen major and industry sector.
Entry Requirements You will need to hold a relevant degree and show evidence of an IELTS overall academic score of at least 6.0 (with at least 5.5 in each band) issued within the last two years or equivalent. You will also need to show relevant Maths and Physics studies.
